How to... Fully engage with your flatmates.

Problems at university.
We received a vague brief about problems that we faced during freshers week at university.
As a group we came up with a list of the main problems that effected us during the first week of university.

Then narrowed the list down to the five main problems that we faced, which were;
-No kettle or toaster in our accommodation.
-The size of the bathrooms.
-The noise outside the halls.
-Paying to replace lost/stolen cards.
-Trying not to get run over on the busy roads.

However each group in the class presented their 5 main problems which were all put together and dished out randomly to each group, so each group were left with a random problem that they had to work with.
We were left with 'making friends' as our problem.

We then worked with the problem of how to make friends at university, naming our brief; 'How to.. fully engage with your flatmates.'
We came up with 10 quick possible concepts which we could use, which were then narrowed to to our top 3 which were;
- Producing a series of flyers, stickers, magnets and posters which would be eyecatching and engaging encouraging the flatmates to get along, however i did not fully understand the concept of this idea and didn't feel that it met the aim of the brief in helping your flatmates engage with each other.
-The second idea was to give each of the flat mates part of a leflet/flyer on entry to their accommodation. This flyer with give the flat mates free entry or free drinks at a club however would only be valid if each section of the flyer was together and all flat mates were present, encouraging the flat mates to go out together and socialise with each other.
-The 3rd idea was to do a kind of 'Come dine with me' spin off, were each night for the first 5 nights each flat mate would cook a meal for the other 4 flat mates and at the end of the night the others would score the meal, this would help promote healthy eating and also would pretty much force the flat mates to eat together every night and socialise with each other.

We then wrote down each of the concepts and another group read through them and chose their favourite which would be the one that we was left to work with. The one which was chosen was the 'come dine with me' spin off.

Here is the logo that was created for our idea, simple, bold and eye catching.

We came up with a name for the idea which was, 'Meet, Greet and Eat', and this is a mock up poster which i created to help promote the idea.

here are the final poster designs which were created to promote our idea,
