front and back covers, what is a line.

I then had to design the front and back covers for my book, for this i wanted to combine the use of textures and layer masks to give an old fashioned graphic design look combined with minimalistic modern graphic design.


here are some design which i came up with,

for this one i originally wanted to vector the tree so it would look like the illustrations of the animals within the book, however i couldnt get it to look nice, so i began just experimenting with layer blends and opacity on photoshop with the original image and really liked what i came up with.
