Identity - sikkens foundation - really nice minimalist design, crisp. nice type layout and editorial, some to really get graphic designers excited.
Who wouldnt find it good?
Maximalists, designers who use maximalism, or illustrators who find it too simple/easy, because of its simple style using very little elements relying mainly on the idea over skills.
Identity/branding - Jamie XX - album cover and artist identity, first time i saw this album cover i hated it, i thought it was far too simple and didnt make any sense, just having a pink rectangle with no words with it, not even the album title of anything, however now i understand how clever it is, he has managed to create and identity for himself, now that pink rectangle/any pink rectangle you see you will instantly relate it to jamie xx.
What is it better than?
Maximalism, i find maximalism too cluttered and too messy, too much going on within the design giving it a really childish/ un-professional look.
Logo - starbucks - really hate this logo, i find it too cluttered with too much going on makes it look really un-professional and old fashioned.
Profession?
Architect, architects are using more and more minimalist styles recently, all modern buildings being very clean and simple.
Logo/identity - Pepsi - constantly changing the design of the pepsi logo becoming more and more minimalist.

Place?
Japan, japanese achitecture is one of the main influences for minimalist design. Traditional japanese designs all has very few flourishes, simple colour, simple design choices, and clean lines and forms, adding only what is needed and removing the rest.
Identity - cross section studio, clean lines and type, sticking to a grid formation, and adding only what is needed to be their.
Product?
Iphone, all apple products are extremely minimalist, take the iphone, a phone with only one button other than that its just a blank box, very clever.
Branding and logo - the apple logo and minimalist branding.
Event?
Event is a hard one to think of because events mainly being massive and very un-minimalist, however.. Beacons festival, a very chilled out festival with the line up consisting of pretty much all house music and chilled out dub, really low tempo music with few elements and really chilled out.

what is good presentation.
the first thing we did after coming back from summer and our extensive research into our good is pitch our good to the class in a 5 minute presentation, showing what your good is, why you think it is good aswel as facts and figures about the good. Here is the presentation i created summarizing the research i conducted,
This was to help come up with initial concepts on how to tackle the what is good brief, after conducting research into minimalism i was really into minimalist publishing and editorials and wanted to focus my outcome on this somehow. The idea i had was to produce a minimalist editorial all about minimalism, focussing on the minimalist layout of the book, educating people on what minimalism was, where it originated and influences on minimalism. Showing some of my own minimalist designs aswel as analysations of others works.
Feedback from crit; things to look at.
How good?.. were you convinced.
What else interesting about their good that hasnt been mentioned?
-what message do you want to get across.
-how minimal you could make something and it still be legible.
Is there a flaw in the argument? what do you disagree with and why?
-be more specific? what is it about minimalism that you think is good.
What processes, scenarious, or contects might improve the potential impact of the concept?
-maybe look at certain countries - places that arnt too well known.
-look at signage.
-publications, what the book could be about? could be completely random as long as it is the editorial is crisp and minimal.
How else might the concept be creatively improved? any other comments...
-some of your own minimalst deisng work.
