Brief 1 - album art.

Brief

The artist Bambooman is an up and coming produced who creates hip-hop, downtempo, futurebeats music. Develop visuals for the marketing of a release by this artist. I plan to put together a visual identity for this producer along with design material to go along side his new album 'lost souls', along with special edition alternative high class album design.

Background/considerations.

Remember artwork and identity is to reflect to overall feel of the music so must fit the purpose that it is intended for, however the experimental feel of the music should give you enough creative freedom to create something really nice. Must stand out amongst other artwork, help promote the artist and bring sales in.

Mandatory requirements

Must be low budget.
Include alternative special edition artwork.
Adhere to the bands guidelines

Deliverables

- identity
- new logo
- website mock up
- album artwork along with, vinyl covers and special edition album art.
- Promotional tour posters

Initial ideas:I dont think this will be one of the 4 main briefs that i will be undertaking for this module, seems like the kind of brief that is purely outcome based seen as i already know about most of the content that will of needed to be researched. Just purely about experimenting with design work and banging out outcomes. Probably spend 1 to 2 weeks on the brief which should give me enough time to finish off all the design work.

Here are some of the quick initial ideas that I have for the artwork;
- Experiment more with marble printing, master the process to produce some really cool patterns.
- Print processes - experiment with print processes, push the boundaries of print.
                           - innovative printing techniques
                           - try something different
- Print finishes - experiment with print finishes.
- screen print.

Just a few concepts, but it's hard to get what is in my head out into words. However this brief will focus on experimenting with print, trying innovative/different printing techniques to create some really interesting outcomes. However one challenge will be re-producing these techniques for mass production which will be something that i will have to figure out nearer the time.
Really excited for this brief and the opportunities that may fall from it.
